I was born and grew up in Winterset and this story was wonderful. I also have a deaf daughter to whom I plan to give the book as a Christmas gift. I liked Bridges of Madison County, I enjoyed this book more. I would like to see a movie made of it.

This short novel tells the story of a woman starting over in Winterset, Iowa. It is well written and should appeal to those who love Christian Fiction. As someone who lives in another small Iowa town, I must say that the author is very sweet on small town life and Midwestern values. None the less, if you are looking for something with a little G rated romance and no violence, this book should do just fine.
